Dear Brethren,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We are planning the 2010 Baptist History Tour. Our prayer is that this event will be a blessing to you and your ministry.
The trip this year will be May 10th -14th. We invite you to fellowship with us while visiting sites significant to Baptist history. These sites are located in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. We will visit historic locations, old meetinghouses and the graves of several much used Baptists of the past. As always, the preaching of the word of God will receive preeminence. This year, we will gather at the home of the Baptist History Preservation Society, Harvest Baptist Church. The group will depart from there Monday morning at 8:00 and return to the church Friday evening.
The Baptist History Preservation Society is planning to place memorial markers at several historic sites in 2010 and we look forward to dedicating these markers during the tour. We also plan to unveil another Baptist history painting during the week. Other events scheduled for the trip promise to make it the most unique we have ever planned.
The tour will be for men and boys ages 13 and older. The cost is $500 per person. This includes admissions, transportation and lodging (double occupancy), meals excluded. A $100 deposit will hold your reservation. Because of the preparations involved, it is necessary that we know as soon as possible if you plan to attend. Please send name and address with deposit, to Harvest Baptist Church. Payment in full is expected by April 30th. A letter, with additional information, will be mailed only to those that respond to this invitation.
The nearest airport is Charlotte Douglas. A special negotiated rate ($67 plus tax) at the Hampton Inn, Kannapolis, NC is available for those arriving early and for any staying Friday evening. The hotel number is 704-793-9700. Twenty rooms have been reserved on a first call basis for the nights of May 8th and 9th (refer to code HBC), and for the 14th (refer to code BHT). This cost is additional.
